How can a French company set up in Mexico?

The most common corporate forms are the S.A. de C.V. and the S. de R.L. de C.V. The firm structures the set-up with its Mexico City office and its Mexican-law attorney: choice of corporate form, incorporation, regulatory matters and local contracts.

How can a trademark be protected in Mexico?

By filing with the IMPI (Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial), or through the Madrid system where appropriate. The Mexico City office handles trademark filings and registrations.

Can a Mexican company incorporate in France?

Yes, with no nationality or residence requirement. The most common vehicle is the société par actions simplifiée (SAS), which can be incorporated within a few weeks. MOSAIK handles the whole process, in Spanish if you wish.

Is there a tax treaty between France and Mexico?

Yes. A convention for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income was signed in Mexico City on 7 November 1991 and has been in force since 31 December 1992.
