Izzat-Begum B. Rajan has joined the Blockchain Advisory Group of the United Nations Development Programme, run by its AltFinLab.
The group’s work focuses on the use of blockchain to finance development. The session covered the on-chain taxation model she designed, which aims to make funding flow from taxpayers to governments and back to taxpayers in the form of benefits, with every step traceable.
The indicators chosen to measure the effect of the model are the Human Development Index and citizens’ economic empowerment.
